Some burn bans to be lifted Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023

According to fire officials within the affected counties, the seasonal fire safety burn bans in Clallam, Jefferson, Pacific, and Thurston Counties will be lifted as of October 1, 2023, as scheduled.

The Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR) still rates fire danger as moderate as of Friday Sept. 29 in all six counties within ORCAA’s jurisdiction. As such, land clearing burning remains prohibited throughout all counties, and residential yard waste burning is still restricted in Mason and Grays Harbor Counties.
