ORCAA has issued a Notice of Construction (NOC) permit preliminary determination for Pacific Northwest Renewable Energy in Hoquiam. This is open for public comment through January 18, 2024. Also, a Public Hearing has been scheduled on January 16, 2024, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to gather testimony regarding air quality issues associated with PNWRE’s proposal. The hearing will be conducted at Hoquiam City Hall, Municipal Courtroom, 2nd Floor, 609 8th St., Hoquiam, WA 98550. NOCs are required prior to the construction, installation, replacement, or modification of any air pollutant sources, emissions units, or air pollution control equipment. Once approved and issued by ORCAA, the NOC conditionally approves the ‘construction’ and the ongoing operation of that source or emissions unit. The NOC is in force until the source or emissions unit is modified or replaced, at which time a new NOC permit is required. Learn more about the NOC program.
