The Olympic Region Clean Air Agency (ORCAA) offers a great opportunity for job seekers who want to help protect people, communities, and the environment around them while working in some of the most beautiful places in the world.

ORCAA is currently recruiting candidates for the role of Air Quality Specialist (AQS). Depending on qualifications, ORCAA may fill the position as an AQS I, AQS II, or AQS III.

As an ORCAA Air Quality Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in enabling the agency to carry out its mission to protect the health and welfare of people living in our jurisdiction. Imagine assisting persons that are affected by air pollution. In these positions you will see a wide variety of industrial processes such as making veneer for plywood, aluminum beverage can manufacturing, or yacht construction. Enter or continue a career where you can continue to learn and make a difference to people and the environment for years.

The AQS position requires travel throughout ORCAA’s six-county jurisdiction – Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Mason, Pacific, and Thurston Counties – on the Olympic Peninsula in western Washington. The Olympic National Park, a World Heritage Site, dominates the northern portion of ORCAA’s jurisdiction. And while Olympic National Park with its craggy mountains, ancient temperate rainforests, and the longest stretch of wilderness beaches in the lower 48, is a gem in the region’s center, the rest of ORCAA’s jurisdiction is equally stunning. Around the park, visitors find beautiful wild rivers rich with anadromous fish, hundreds of lakes, forested valleys and mountains, open grassland prairies, and stunning small towns and cities.

ORCAA provides staff with a generous benefits package, including participation in the Washington state employee retirement system as well as complete health coverage (medical, dental, and vision included). Full details of the employment benefits can be found here.

The recruitment will remain open until filled, with the first review of applications on April 28, 2022.
