This week, the Olympic Region Clean Air Agency (ORCAA) earned recognition for its long history of strong fiscal responsibility and transparency.

Washington State Auditor, Pat McCarthy, attended the April meeting of the ORCAA Board of Directors to present the agency with the State Auditor’s Stewardship Award.
“The office of the Washington State Auditor (SAO) recognizes the Olympic Region Clean Air Agency’s dedication to making government work better and its commitment to the audit process,” said Auditor McCarthy. “The Agency’s leadership promotes a culture of transparency and accountability for public resources and strives to maintain strong, well-documented internal control processes that ensure compliance with accounting standards and state law.”
The auditor specifically called out the work of Lynn Harding, ORCAA’s Financial Services Manager who is retiring this month after 22 years of service to ORCAA. “Lynn has promoted a collaborative working relationship with SOA and demonstrates she cares about the work she does,” McCarthy noted.
ORCAA Executive Director, Jeff Johnston, accepted the award on behalf of the agency, noting that Harding was instrumental in garnering the award, but that it was also earned by everyone working at the agency, including staff and the Board.
“This award is a wonderful honor for ORCAA, and a great recognition of an agency culture that recognizes the importance of being good stewards of public funds. I couldn’t be prouder of ORCAA staff and the excellent work they do every day,” said Johnston. The SAO audits ORCAA every two years.
