ORCAA issues Request for Proposals (RFPs) for Cheeka Peak work

Olympic Region Clean Air Agency (ORCAA) is requesting proposals from qualified companies to assist in clean-up and improvements at the Cheeka Peak Observatory (CPO) air monitoring site near Neah Bay, WA. Map Coordinates: 48.29792, -124.62507

The planned work involves:

  • The removal and disposal of three derelict, insulated cargo containers
  • Off-loading and towing of a new monitoring trailer to the Cheeka Peak site
  • Grading and graveling 400 feet of road and a 25’ X 20’ area where two trailers will sit

ORCAA operates the Cheeka Peak site as a federally funded NCORE air monitoring network site. The Makah tribe
also operates a federally funded Interagency Monitoring for Protected Visual Environments (IMPROVE)
network site at the same location.
