Miles Sand & Gravel Company (Miles S&G) seeks after-the-fact approval from Olympic Region Clean Air Agency (ORCAA) to replace a concrete batch plant’s control device from a Con-E-CO baghouse to a C&W Dust Collector at their facility located at 1500 Wahl Lake Rd., Port Ludlow, Washington. Regulated air pollutants impacted by the project include HAP, TAP, Particulate Matter, PM10, and PM2.5. The new dust collector’s filters are rated more efficient than the replaced baghouse and should result in a decrease in emissions.

What are Notice of Construction Permits?
Notice of Construction (NOC) permits are required prior to the construction, installation, replacement, or modification of any air pollutant sources, emissions units, or air pollution control equipment. Once approved and issued by ORCAA, the NOC allows not only the ‘construction’ but also the ongoing operation of that source or emissions unit. The NOC is in force until the source or emissions unit is modified or replaced, at which time a new NOC permit is required. Learn more about the NOC program.
