Effective 12:01 A.M. Wednesday June 7th, 2023; With the recent trend of warm and dry weather, the Grays Harbor County Fire Marshal’s office and Fire Districts, will be enacting restrictions on outdoor burning in Grays Harbor County. This restriction includes residential yard waste and land clearing burning on a temporary basis until conditions moderate. All residential yard waste and land clearing burning is prohibited until further notice.
The use of charcoal briquettes and recreational campfires are allowed if built in improved barbeques, fire pits or in designated campgrounds, such as those typically found in local, county, state parks or commercial campgrounds.
En terrenos privados, las hogueras están permitidas con el permiso del propietario si se hacen de la siguiente manera aprobada:
- La hoguera no podrá tener más de 3 pies de diámetro y estará construida con un anillo de metal, piedra o ladrillo a 8 pulgadas por encima de la superficie del suelo, con una zona de 2 pies de ancho despejada hasta la tierra expuesta que rodee el exterior de la fosa.
- The campfire shall have an area at least 10-feet around it cleared of all flammable material and at least 20-feet of clearance from structures, overhead flammable materials or fuels.
- La hoguera deberá estar atendida en todo momento por una persona responsable de al menos 16 años de edad con capacidad para apagar el fuego con una pala y un cubo de agua de 5 galones o con una manguera de agua conectada y cargada.
Apague completamente las hogueras vertiendo agua o tierra húmeda en ellas y removiendo con una pala hasta que todas las partes estén frías al tacto. Se fomenta el uso de estufas de campamento autónomas como alternativa.
