The 2025 wildfire season has started! Due to drier-than-normal conditions and above-average temperatures, the summer fire season is upon us. The Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has raised fire risks to MODERATE in Thurston and Mason Counties, as well as the eastern portions of Grays Harbor, Clallam, and Jefferson Counties.
As a result, ORCAA has closed permits for land clearing burning in those areas.
ORCAA works closely with DNR and county fire marshals to share news about fire safety and burn bans to ensure public safety.
