Through a grant provided by the Washington Department of Ecology, ORCAA offers financial aid programs to residentsย of Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Mason, Pacific, and Thurston Counties who burnย at least 1 cord of wood per year and want to remove their old, uncertified wood stove. The applicants must remove and destroy one or more of the following:
- a wood stove that is NOT compliant with the 2020 New Source Performance Standards
- a fireplace insert that is NOT compliant with the 2020 New Source Performance Standards
- A manufactured freestanding metal fireplace unit.
The wood stove replacement program requires professional installation of new devices, and ORCAAโs retailer partners handle the paperwork and billing. Program participation is limited to available funds.
