No Burn Areas

The Washington State Legislature enacted laws that restrict both residential yard-waste burning and land-clearing burning. Residential outdoor burning will be prohibited in all Urban Growth Areas (UGAs) within the state as of January 1, 2007.  Additionally, previously enacted outdoor burning bans exist for many cities. Areas were outdoor buring is permenantly prohibited include:

17 UGAs within ORCAA’s jurisdiction:  (Click on the City/UGA name below to see the map of that UGA)

• Clallam County: Carlsborg, Clallam Bay/Sekiu, Forks, Joyce, Sequim
• Mason County: Allyn, Belfair
• Pacific County: Raymond, South Bend, Long Beach, Ilwaco, Seaview
• Thurston County: Bucoda, Grand Mound, Rainier, Tenino, Yelm

Cities in which outdoor burning is currently prohibited include:
Lacey, Olympia and Tumwater in Thurston County;
Port Townsend in Jefferson County;
Port Angeles in Clallam County;
Shelton in Mason County;
Cosmopolis, Aberdeen and a portion of Hoquiam in Grays Harbor County.
