No burning is allowed in Lacey, Olympia and Tumwater city limits at any time. Woodstoves can be used, when an air quality burn ban is not in effect. The Thurston County, Washington area was designated nonattainment for PM-10 and classified as moderate upon enactment of the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. Washington submitted the PM-10 maintenance plan on August 16, 1999. EPA approved the plan on October 4, 2000. Below are a few guidelines to help clarify what is and what is not allowed.
