ORCAA Monitors Air Impacts from ONP wildfires
With wildfires flaring in the Mount Constance area of Olympic National Park, residents in the communities along Hood Canal face elevated levels of air pollution.
To gauge just how much smoke and fine particulate pollution (PM2.5) those residents face, ORCAA has established an air monitoring station in downtown Brinnon.
The monitoring device will run continuously until further notice to help ORCAA staff and public health officials determine what health impacts the fires may cause. ORCAA is working with officials from ONP and from Jefferson County on the smoke issues.
